Adding light

to north-facing rooms

Close

Thanks to ECLAZ or ECLAZ ONE glazing units rooms in non-sunlit parts of the building become brighter and at the same time they lose less energy.

Planitherm Lux

vs. ECLAZ

Close

The difference between Saint-Gobain Planitherm LUX and ECLAZ glazing is as if thick muntin bars were taken off from the windows.

Optimal

light intensity

Close

When calculating light intensity in the DIAL programme we take into account staying indoors between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. all year round and we refer to the average light intensity of 300 lux. Such light intensity guarantees comfortable and optimal working and studying conditions.

South-facing

windows

Close

By using ECLAZ or ECLAZ ONE glazing units in south-facing windows you can obtain enormous energy gains by designing a window or a glazing unit properly.

Visual

comfort

Close

Most people spend most of the day in the place of their work or study (school of office). The quality of lighting is paramount for human safety, health, and mental state, as well as efficiency.

Light

on cloudy days

Close

Sunlight on a cloudy day emits lights of ca. 5000 lux, which on average allows to illuminate interiors up to 500 lux near windows and 50 lux further inside the room.

Windows mounted

higher

Close

If we mount our windows higher, more light will flow to the room.

Natural daylight

Close

Natural daylight has a positive effect on our mood: it boosts our sense of wellbeing and aesthetic experiences. We are more willing to stay in well-illuminated rooms, because we don’t get tired so fast in them.

For designers
Especially for architects designing windows with ECLAZ glazing, we have launched a website where you can verify your design in terms of the quantity of natural light in the building. We will calculate the day lighting autonomy for two selected rooms.
For clients
Consumer, when buying ECLAZ windows, ask your window supplier for the day lighting autonomy. We will also calculate the light distribution in a selected room for you, taking into account the entire year, the building location, and orientation of the window(s) towards the cardinal directions.
